    Coach Monmonier Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach
 

Coach Monmonier comes to Hilton Head from Baltimore Maryland to coach his 6th season as a Seahawk.  Last year the Seahawks went 11-4 losing in the second round of the playoffs.  In his tenure at HHIHS Coach has coached 3 All Americans, 5 Beaufort County Players of the Year, and various all state players including 4 from the 2011 season.  Coach Monmonier was a NJCAA All American Goalie 1992 at Catonsville Community College and a two time NCAA Division II All-American Goalie 1993 &1994 at Limestone College. Coach Monmonier previously coached at Mount Saint Joseph HS as freshmen lacrosse team head coach and varsity assistant. He was a long time assistant coach (defense/goalies) at Catonsville Community College coaching seven All-Americans and the 1996 team to the NJCAA Final Four. Coach Monmonier has a BA in history (1994) from Limestone College and a MAT (1999) from Towson University. Coach Monmonier currently the special education department chair and resource teacher at Hilton Head Island High School.  He is currently on the board of directors for the South Carolina Chapter of US Lacrosse and current President of the South Carolina High School Lacrosse Coaches Association. In 2007 He was selected to be a member of the Limestone College Athletic Hall of Fame.  In 2009 Coach Monmonier was selected to coach the National Senior Showcase sponsored by US Lacrosse.  The NSS  is a collection of the top senior lacrosse players across the country.  He helped lead Team South to 3rd place with a 2-1 record. He is married to his wife Kim and has two daughters Ava and Caroline. 

 

 Coach Farrenkopf Assistant Varsity Coach Defense

     Coach Farrenkopf returns to the program for his 7th season in 2012.  Coach Farrenkopf is a retired Senior Vice President-Finance for the Provident Financial Group Inc in Cincinnati Ohio.  He has plenty of lacrosse experience as head coach of Cincinnati Country Day School in 2005 and the assistant coach from 2002-2004.  Coach Farrenkopf won the division II State Championship in 2005.  Previous to high school coaching he coached middle school and youth boys teams in the Cincinnati area.  He was the former treasurer of Southern Ohio Chapter US Lacrosse, and Greater Cincinnati Lacrosse Association from 1998 to 2005.  He has received the 2005 US Lacrosse Commitment Award for service and leadership of the Ohio Chapter.

 


Coach Werner Assistant Varsity Coach Offense
 

Coach Werner grew up in Rochester NY and played high school lacrosse at Bishop Carney High School where he played defense and goalie.  After high school, Coach Werner attended Monroe Community College where he played midfield and attack.  After completing his two years at Monroe, Coach Werner was selected to the Junior College North South All Star Game where he alleges that he scored a goal in the game vs. Coach Monmonier but no video evidence can be found to support his claim.  Coach Werner finished off his college career playing attack for SUNY Potsdam and was the team’s leading scorer.  Coach Werner has resided in Hilton Head since 1996 and is an avid fisherman and is the owner of his own Landscape Company and Wandering Waters Kayak Company.  He is married to his wife Leigh Ann. This is Coach Werner's 3rd season with the seahawks.

 

Coach Sudduth Head JV Lacrosse Coach

Coach Sudduth was born and raised in Maryland, Coach Sudduth returns to the Seahawk coaching staff for the 2012 season. Prior to becoming a Seahawk, Coach Sudduth has been involved at various levels of the sport ranging from being a player, coach, and camp instructor since picking up a stick as a youth. In high school he played as a short-stick defensive midfielder at Glenelg High in Howard County, Maryland. While attending Towson University he made the transition to close defense while a member of the club team. In 2006, he graduated from Towson earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management and Business Administration. In the summer of 2010, Coach Sudduth earned a Master’s Degree (MS) in Human Resources and Labor Law from Penn State University. Coach Sudduth currently resides on Hilton Head Island and works at Ferrene & Associates’ law firm.

 

Coach DeStasio Assistant JV Coach

Coach DeStasio grew up in Mahopac NY and attended SUNY Cobleskill where he obtained a Bachelors degree in Turf Grass Management.  Coach DeStasio played defense for the SUNY Cobleskill lacrosse team and then stayed on with the team to help out with the defense.  Coach DeStasio moved to Bluffton in 2007, and is currently employed by the town as a police officer.  Before coming to Hilton Head High School, Coach DeStasio was the assistant varsity coach at Bluffton High School.  Coach DeStasio currently plays lacrosse with the Savannah Lacrosse Club.
